dialogue

i had a fun conversation with a colleague, close friend, and enlightened dude this afternoon. he is a politically independent thinker, whose tendencies lean toward the conversative. we disagree on some things. we have great fun talking. we are thinking about creating a forum similar to this in which we each share our view. this is precisely the type of dialogue i wish for in this country. how many talking heads are honestly fostering discussion among the electorate? as i said to my buddy, rather than being considered a deal-maker, or one who gets things done, it seems a political asset in washington if you can claim to be an effective blocker of the other party’s agenda. this sickens me. we may have certain policy differences, but we need to remember that we are all on the same team, and the advancement of the country should be the ultimate priority.
